DALSA has always been an industry leader in advanced imaging solutions. With a focus on high-resolution, high-performance CCD and CMOS sensors, we established a reputation for the industry's highest image quality and performance. We own scores of patents for the design of CCD and CMOS image sensors and specialized techniques for fabricating and assembling them.
Our life science imaging products include high-performance image sensors and cameras for digital radiography. We take pride in offering larger active sensing areas, faster clock rates, lower noise, and higher sensitivity than competing devices on the market. Our products address diverse applications such as industrial inspection, non-destructive testing, medical imaging, electronics inspection, x-ray crystallography, biotechnology imaging, geology and exploration, and food/agriculture inspection. With our sensors and cameras, our customers are able to implement cost-effective and high-performance digital imaging solutions. With our ability to deliver wafer scale devices and our proprietary die-butting techniques (honed through years of experience), DALSA delivers solutions ranging from small specimen radiography to full field mammography.

DALSA Corporation
DALSA was founded in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1980 by imaging pioneer Dr. Savvas Chamberlain, then a Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Originally the company concentrated in developing and generating technology in the area of Charge Coupled Device (CCD) image sensors. Since then the company has grown into an industry leader in semiconductor technology, employing more than 900 people world-wide. The company was capitalised in November 1984 and went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: DSA) in May 1996. Headquarters remain in Waterloo, but DALSA has expanded operations into Bromont, Quebec, and Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in addition to sales offices in the U.S., Germany and Japan.
