DALSA Evolution: Unsurpassed Images, Smaller Package

Evolution Camera

The next step in 4K cinematography

Evolution packs all of Origin's remarkable power and cinematographer-focused features into a smaller and lighter package. While Origin delivers unsurpassed digital cinema imagery, we must admit it isn't the easiest to shoulder. But at 20% lighter, Evolution changes that.

Not only is Evolution lighter, it is better balanced for handheld use. The new design brings additional refinements, including even lower acoustic noise during operation and increased dust protection in the sensor cavity.

Smaller is nice, but we haven't forgotten that the first objective is still the highest possible image quality. Powered by the latest version of the sensor that powers Origin, the Evolution camera delivers every bit of Origin's stunning 4K image fidelity, with the same professional optical viewfinder, cine lens support, and 16 bit linear data. You've got to see it to believe it.

Under the hood

Evolution uses the same frame-transfer CCD as Origin--is the best cinematography sensor in the world, offering four times the resolution of "Hi-Def." But more importantly, it provides all the exposure latitude of the best film stocks, with more than 12 stops of linear response.

Like Origin, Evolution uses standard 35mm cinematography lenses allowing cinematographers to create the depth of field and focus effects they want; it also uses an optical viewing system so operators can actually keep that focus and see the effects.

DALSA's 4K cameras provide cinematographers and the industry the power to stop worrying about technological limitations and focus on the art of cinematography.
